My understanding of Tanka Tanka is that, it is a Wollof language. Tanka in Wollof means feet. Tanka Tanka could also mean six pence by six pence (this is taken from the Gambian currency when it was pounds shillings and pence. There was a six pence coin, and was called in Wollof Tanka.
