this is fucking dog shit just remove it from the internet. for anyone else reading, it is AI powered and basically creates a random semi-related answer every time you hit translate. it’s completely pointless.
I have waka poem from the Manyoshu in hiragana that I rewrote int Romaji.
I’m not sure the translation I got was correct, but what I’d really like is who wrote it. The poem is supposed to be from Book XV #3738, but i cannot find this anywhere! Who composed it?!
sorry, but your romanji translator is less than useful. e.g. the phrase, ‘netaru hagi ya’ was translated as ‘gravel bed; a net of weeds; on the mountain ridge; sugar cane; nettle bushes; thorny root; willow grass; nettle and bush clover; it’s a hundred flowers; what is a violent wind?; decayed grass; I’ll go to bed; nettle and bush clover/grass/weeds…. In the context of a Basho poem where it appears it simply means ‘supine’ or ‘sleeping’. That’s not very useful, is it.
It would also be good to simply list the main variants to a word or phrase in a descending order of their probability, instead of making the user hit the ‘translate’ button for each successive translation attempt.
